Depression and anxiety disorders during the postpartum period in women diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

ADHD is a risk factor for both depression and anxiety disorders postpartum and we argue that ADHD always should be considered in maternal care, regardless of sociodemographic factors and the presence of other psychiatric disorders.

In this study we show a 4-year diagnostic delay for females who also show more multimorbidity, polypharmacy and health care utilization than males with, and females without, ADHD.
